Weakness

On the whole I'm an organic, fresh, free-range, no-MSG, tree-hugging leftie kind of guy. I prefer Marks and Spencer's Red Leicester and Spring Onion crisps as they contain potato, oil, cheese and onion. When I buy chicken it's free-range. Eggs are always free-range, and the fact that the supermarkets still sell "value" eggs upsets me. This weekend in a "top 10" conversation, I discovered that I have several weaknesses:

More MSG, artificial flavourings and additives than you can shake a stick at. Please say I'm not alone... or am I just weak-willed?

In other news, Henry is three months old today. He is all jabbed up now so can finally leave the house, walks are fun (for certain definitions of fun that is) as he continually pulls on the lead and is obsessed with cars driving past. So far we're averaging two random people talking to us about Henry on every walk...

Three months are fun times with a puppy!!  Hope your pulling and car problems fade.

I have a lil puppy who's 8 months now. http://flickr.com/photos/iheartmason

Well I don't know whether you are alone with those things, but I just wanted to say thanks for the tip on the m&s crisps. I didn't know about them and I will certainly check them out now.

Left wing my big toe.  In my experience you are a 'coding style' Nazi! ;-)

There is only one way to stop them pulling.  Perseverence with the check chain.  It feels harsh I know but it's best in the long term, now is the time to stamp that eye-thori-tie :)

As for the food, I'm with you. Apart from the Nik-Naks and Pot Noodles, have you seen the sodium content!  Makes me shrivel thinkng about it.  Otherwise I am a corn feed, free roaming, wallet-empty-but-well-fed boy.  Helps having a Cantonese girly I guess.  I actually prefer to pay more for decent food than eat that blue stripey manufactured detritus from that world dominating supermarket we won't mention.

Nice to see you blogging about the real world again dear boy.  More please.

I don't agree with Choke Chains I'm afraid. So we won't be using one with Henry. He will learn with a bit of perseverance - treats when he does right rather than punishment when he does bad is the theory we're trying to use! We're telling him when he does wrong with a firm 'No' but givng him lots of fuss, attention and treats when he does right. Plus he has a lovely new rainbow coloured collar but its just a wee bit too big at the mo! Anyway he's learning really fast - he's a clever thing. Hope you and Lisa are well, Dan - we must meet up soon!

I know where you're coming from with the check chain, I never did like them.  We never managed to get Toby or Ben to stop dragging me along without one, but you may have better luck than I did.  Good luck.  I know a few people who have had success with a clicker, perhaps that's worth looking into.

As for meeting up, I'm having a bash for my 30th on the 27th.  Ross has the details.  I will be coming round at some point tho to meet young Henry.

You are just weak willed.  You need to take a trip to Fresh and Wild in Clapham Junction.  Organic food heaven.
