Go Fluendo!

Sure, Fluendo may sound like a company which makes pipes and toilets, but today's announcement that they are sponsoring xiph.org to finish Ogg Theora is totally cool.

End-to-end open video streaming is an admirable goal, and something which would be great to see. Thomas has even said that they aim to be able to stream GUADEC this July over the net, which would be very impressive if they get that far so quickly.

Go Fluendo!

NP: Dummy, by Portishead. Still got the bass problem, looking at these.

If you're looking for headphones you can do worse than these [http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=6&products_id=12]. I've had a pair since last summer, and they haven't failed me yet. Cheaper than the Sony ones you're looking at too. I also rember that there's at least one electronics shop down Tottenham Court Road way (if you can get down to London) that sell them for around £30.

If you want bass from an earbud type headphone, look at the Shures.  If you don't need portables, check out Beyerdynamics line of headphones.  Both can be had from <a href="http://headphone.com/layout.php?topicID=3&subTopicID=26">http://headphone.com/layout.php?topicID=3&subTopicID=26</a> .  And if you want to do some more detailed research, check out the head-fi.org forums.
