Tasks 0.1
I've just tagged and rolled a Tasks 0.1 tarball. Tasks is a simple To Do manager, using GTK+ and libecal (part of Evolution Data Server). It isn't very featureful at the moment, but it's progressing nicely: I'm using it already.
I'll be adding this to the OpenedHand Projects site shortly, but for now here is a tarball.
These OH projects dates, constacts and now tasks are nice little apps that use EDS. It is great for integration.
That said, I've started implementing a GTD system form myself recently (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gtd) and find it works quite well. (Just using tomboy, not a software system). You might enjoy reading about this paper-based version: http://pigpog.com/node/1030

Simple and elegant, the way a program should be.
PS: I just love all apps you wrote so far, like the GNOME Dictionary and Sound Juicer. Sound Juicer artwork is perfect, but I still feel that the GNOME Dictionary icon is abit ... ugly and bit glossy, why don't you ask those people at #tango to give you a nicer icon?
Henrik: Yes, I've seen the GTD thing. Version 0.2 will have support for contexts. I'm also figuring out a way of doing projects.
- remember window size/position
- number of items in title bar, eg: Tasks (21)
I actually have 21 items in there already :)
I'm looking forward to the context/projects grouping functionality too!
I'm beginning to use contacts, and planning to use dates soon. I was about to ask for a tasks :)
IMHO, an applet would be nice for the desktop users, and allowing contexts (à la GTD) would be great for handheld users. Sitting in front of a computer is one single context, but if you can carry it in your pocket you may use it to remember what you need to do in the way back home, or at the phone, or while shopping, and so on.
Keep up the good work!
