Great app, and I understand your pain, but it might be lessened if you had a link in your release blog posts to a <A HREF="http://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?product=sound-juicer&version=0.1&version=0.2&version=0.2.1&version=0.3&version=0.4.1&version=0.5&version=unspecified&op_sys=All&op_sys=AIX&op_sys=BSDI&op_sys=HP-UX&op_sys=IRIX&op_sys=Linux&op_sys=FreeBSD&op_sys=OpenBSD&op_sys=NetBSD&op_sys=OSF%2F1&op_sys=Solaris&op_sys=SunOS&op_sys=BeOS&op_sys=Macintosh&op_sys=Neutrino&op_sys=OS%2F2&op_sys=Windows&op_sys=OpenVMS&op_sys=other&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=NEEDINFO&bug_status=REOPENED&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&bug_status=CLOSED&email1=&emailtype1=substring&emailassigned_to1=1&email2=&emailtype2=substring&emailreporter2=1&changedin=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&short_desc=&short_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&long_desc_type=substring&bug_file_loc=&bug_file_loc_type=substring&status_whiteboard=&status_whiteboard_type=substring&keywords=&keywords_type=anywords&op_sys_details=&op_sys_details_type=substring&version_details=&version_details_type=substring&cmdtype=doit&order=%27Importance%27&form_name=query">bugzilla query for already reported bugs in sound juicer</A>.<BR><BR>Also, you might want to say something like "please do not report bugs before verifying that it hasn't been fixed in the latest CVS and here's instructions on how to check that out". When you're just one person, supporting bug reports on anything but the latest and greatest is basically impossible, but it makes it easier on me when I let the users know that all over the place.<BR><BR>
The 0.4.1 release did not have user documentation and the TODO did not have "quality setting", so most people are probably reporting it because they aren't using the latest CVS and think they're being helpful.
