Ha!

For some strange reason, Epiphany thought my printer was filled with A4 paper. I'm not even sure where I would [find] A4 paper around here.

Ha! Now you know what it's like to live in Europe, where computers and printers continually revert back to Letter paper, and the sight of PC LOAD LETTER is enough to bring someone's blood to the boil. Continually seeing Unites States at the top of a list and having to scroll to the bottom to find United Kingdom. Pressing United Kingdom in an install routine (*cough* Red Hat *cough*) and then wondering why British is not the default keyboard layout. Argh!

I'm sorry, Rosanna appears to have hit a nerve...

I have the same problem with toasters.  You wouldn't believe how much fun I've had trying to fit an English-sized slice of soggy white into an Australian toaster.  The mere sight of "Crumpet Misfeed" at 7:45 am is more than enough to send me round the twist.

As for Keyboards - it's a sad fact that Australia's multi-cultural policy (i.e. anyone with money gets a house) means that there is no real set layout for keyboards over here, and I'm constantly struggling to find those characters that only nerds and foul-mouthed mother f*#~'s use.  Yay!

Well, I use Knoppix in the US, and it's the same for  DE/US issues. But, I remind Americans: If we were more like the ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD, we wouldn't have to worry about Imperial vs. Metric, etc. Jesus, even the British don't use Imperial measurements anymore.
