Cheapo MP3 Player
Today I ordered what is almost the cheapest MP3 player I could find, and is certainly the cheapest I could find which wouldn't fall off when jogging (as much as I love my black iPod Classic, it's not really suitable for jogging). If you feel like sharing I'd be interested to hear how secure the clip is, how the music loading experience is with Linux, what you think of the build quality and if it secretly supports ogg.
Before it did anything at all I had to update the firmware (using a Windows application, but it worked from a VMWare Player machine). It was formatted as FAT16, but the firmware tool defaults to reformatting as FAT32.
Ogg does not seem to be supported and it is a USB mass storage device. Oh, and there's no shuffle mode.
So it does pretty much what I expected.
