Eww
Glynn, dude, you are no longer qualified to comment on my colour scheme when you think the purple barf you ship is actually “sweet”. I can feel my photoreceptors burning away as I look at that screenshot.

You are far, far too kind. I booted up a Java Desktop live cd and was horrified. How a company can revert back to 90's style gui is beyond me!
The Colour scheme looks unprofessional (matches website I suppose), and the icons are too messy - It's Slick and Clean we want, not Sick and Obscene. Look at OSX, even XP. It's clear and punctual.
Even the Window manager chrome and the scrollbars texturally clash too. They distract attention from the actual application, which isn't good.
Here's a nice calm desktop:

It doesn't try to strangle you with images either
(And ranting just a bit more)
What is the objective of Project Looking glass? What problem does it seek to fufil? It seems more like a gimmic to draw users. Putting notes on the back of applications stands out like an after-thought, the point of a note is to be noticed - Which wont happen when your using the app. What other benefits does 3d give?
Stacking windows sideways is just a glorified window list, allbeit one that takes way more room.
And if your were to really make use of 3d transitions, anything more than 2d panning is too much for us 2d creatures - Are eyes are on the front of our head and our brains accomodate that fact. We keep 2d maps of areas in our head. Only hardcore Space-shooter fans will really make use of the 3d.
