Eye of Gnome Bling

Last night I finally got around to having a play with Clutter. Considering I'd never used it before, I'm really impressed with just how easy the API is to use. Within half an hour I had images fading in and out, and this morning I built Eye of Gnome and rewrote my hack as a slideshow plugin. There is no point releasing the code just (patches required, and a nasty bug remaining), but I did make a screencast.

Dude, the plugin system really should let you override the view->slideshow operation instead of some cracky duplication of functionallity via the tools menu.

Trying to play that on Etch in Totem and VLC cause those programs to close down immediately; mplayer just sits there with a black screen showing nothing.

Pete: you are probably hitting a X driver bug, I should downscale it really.  The fix would be to upgrade your drivers.

Ross, that sounds interesting, do you know any more about the bug you can elaborate on? I'm using Etch's xserver-xorg-video-i810 1.7.2-4.

The old -i810 driver can't handle large Xvideo buffers, so it returns an error.  The fix is to upgrade to the -intel driver.

Gar, that was me.

Thanks.
Sadly only in testing and unstable?:

Yes, thats right.  Rebuild if it you want, I'm running -intel on feisty, which only has -i810.
