Evolution in Maemo

So Philip Van Hoof has started to build our D-BUS port of Evolution Data Server in Maemo, with the aim of building Evolution itself. I've not actually tried running Evolution on a 5 inch screen, but I've a feeling it might be a little cramped. How about trying something designed for smaller devices? Dates is being written by Chris Lord, who is working for OpenedHand during the summer holiday, and has been kicking arse.

First of all, Dates seems to rock.
And I'm okay with you when saying that Evo will be a little bit "big" on a small screen, but why don't port Dates on the usual Gnome Desktop?
BTW, is there a "planet" where Chris Lord's blog is aggregated?

Chris Lord's blog isn;t aggregated anywhere as far as I know.  Dates is being developed on a usual Gnome desktop, so there is nothing stopping people use it on a desktop.

My post bounced from the evo list, but it went to the maemo-developers:

http://maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-developers/2005-September/001229.html

It has a "mockup" of how evo would look on maemo without changes attached, though it's to be taken with a grain of salt (as I explain in the message).

I use Evo on an 8.9" screen (old Vaio Picturebook, resolution 1024x480); it's a little narrow, but perfectly workable, and still my favourite option for email on the machine (I tried quite a lot).

Remember that whilst the 770 is 800 pixels wide, its only 5 inches wide.  You can't use a 8pt font and expect it to be usable.
