Contact Lookup Applet 0.6
Version 0.6 of the Contact Lookup Applet is available from here, and a Debian package for experimental is currently uploading.
I never did finish the new and improved IM field display, but this release at least builds with the current evolution-data-server API.

Nice, but: I get this odd problem when I log back in (rather, when I start gnome-panel).
As you can see in the shot I posted as the comment URL, the input box just shows a grey box and fails to accept focus (if I click in it the focus just goes to another applet on the same panel). It is also unresponsive to right clicks, although the mouse pointer changes to an I-beam and the tooltip is displayed when the mouse is placed over the input box area.
The only way to get it to work is to right click on the business card icon and use the Preferences dialog to switch between address books and back again. (Removing it from the panel and adding it again works as well, of course).
I'm hopeless at the GTK event loop so I won't try to guess what's going on.
I'm using Gentoo unstable ebuilds: gnome-panel-2.6.0, gtk+-2.4.0, libbonobo-2.6.0, evolution-data-server-0.0.91, etcetera.
Anything I can do to help resolve this?
